If you’re not satisfied with a business’s response to your complaint, get help from local or national government consumer protection agencies, consumer organizations, or media outlets that respond to consumer complaints. These agencies or organizations may offer help with resolving complaints through working with you and the business, or bringing media attention to your problem.
Keep in mind that no one can guarantee you a refund. Con artists sometimes claim that they can help people get their money back in exchange for fees, bank account information, or personal information. Don’t pay an upfront fee or give out sensitive financial information for the promise of a refund.
You may want to contact the following organizations for help:
Local or national consumer protection agency. These government agencies might mediate complaints, conduct investigations, and take other action against those who break consumer protection laws. The consumer protection agency may or may not help resolve individual complaints, but your report helps law enforcement detect patterns and might lead to an investigation.
Consumer or non-profit organization. Consumer or non-profit organizations may try to help consumers resolve individual complaints using various dispute resolution processes.
File a report with IAFO. If your report involves a company in another country, you can file a report with IAFO. IAFO does not help resolve individual reports, but your report will help law enforcement detect patterns of wrong-doing and may lead to an investigation.
